Ferry life..... in Argostoli, Kefalonia

The Greek people certainly know how to mobilise shipping and ferries. We have seen ferries rush in and around the Cyclades, exploding people, cars and produce onto the docksides. They are the lifeblood of the non-airport Cyclades Islands. (See blogs summer Aegean 2011).

In Sami, Kefalonia, Ionian, we have seen the same frenetic arrivals and departures (see blogs Sami this summer and 2012)

So in Argostoli, we enjoyed watching the small ferry arrive and depart from Lixouri, a town across the large sea gulf of Kefalonia. The Island is such a strange shape at Argostoli, feeling more like two islands.

The ferry saves at least an hour’s drive around the ‘inland sea’.

The photos tell the story for themselves…. Enjoy.

Love to all
