After our soaking in the thunderstorm on the 2nd we dried out and enjoyed a
calm night on the waterfront.
The next day we lifted anchor and headed out into the Ionian Sea heading for
the island of Lefkas. The sea colour immediately changed to a wonderful
turquoise colour as the sea bed changed from clay and weed to sand and
Ionian white pebbles.
We motored across from the mainland in light winds and a cloudy sky passing
finally through the narrow entrance to the Levkas canal and into Levkas
marina for the first time. A heart stopping 76 euros a night....not so much
in the Solent, UK days, but in Greece where the quays are free or just a few
euros.. its substantial.
Levkas has good boat chandlers and a nice town.
