At LONG last ...an UPDATE!!

Timeless

January 5th 2015.
Annapolis, MD, US

Well it’s been a very long while since I last updated the diary ( since May 2014!) and I would love to say that it was because we have been having too much fun sailing and no time for homework!
That is normally the reason for our tardiness but sadly not this time.

‘Timeless’ has barely moved since our arrival in Annapolis. In fact Timeless has only moved 2 times since then. First, to the Annapolis Boat Show I mile around the corner from here to be used as the showpiece by Discovery in October. Second, to be test sailed and have the rigging retuned after it’s 18,000 miles adventure thus far after the Boat Show.

The lack of updating the diary has more to do with our own personal problem of not wanting to ACTUALLY write down in the diary that our adventure has come to an end for the foreseeable future. It’s almost as if not wanting to admit the obvious facts by writing it down. It became obvious to me during the spring of 2014 that I would have return to the business for a few months and provide a little TLC. Unfortunately the little TLC has become more of a renovation that I feeling will last many many months yet.
So disappointing.

Since arriving back into the real world it has become obvious to Les and I that the ‘Timeless Adventure’ has been one of the most exciting things we have ever done together (and we have had many adventures over the years) and how hollow life without our nautical escapades can be.
Everyday we both yearn to be back on Timeless.
Our adventures on Timeless has been and will still be a very fitting retirement for us.

We have thought about sailing over long weekends but sailing in circles has never ‘cut it’ for us. Great for training or finding an idyllic cove on a hot sunny day but we like sailing to new harbours in new places and new continents and then move on to more unexplored harbours.
ugh!!! This is so frustrating!

Meanwhile, ‘Timeless’ sits on the hard, her sails washed, folded and repaired, clean but forlorn, wrapped up in regulation uniform of white plastic and drained of it’s vitals – she waits for the word to be be released and terrorise the oceans again!
It just might be a little longer than we ever imagined..
oh well.
