We arrived at our destination of Kiparissi midmorning.

This was the third choice but everywhere else was just too busy or too shallow ..and not being able to reserve berths in a port you just have to get lucky or keep moving on.
We also knew that a strong westerly wind was approaching and this little bay would provide good protection. Still, an anchor watch would be needed for the night – just in case.

On that note, the westerly wind did arrive and it was at 25 knots but our case it came from the EAST! ..and was only about 12 knots for us.
What had happened was that the huge backdrop mountain range had blocked the westerly wind but had created a swirl of wind in the bay as it went over the mountain. A cool effect.

Kisparissi was just a very small village that had a super little taverna and took all of 10 minutes to explore. As we were wandering back to the boat we noticed a flashy helicopter zoom in the bay and promptly land on the soccer pitch a short distance from us. The 4 passengers left the pilot and walked off around the northern side of the bay.
This gave Bob the chance to find out just was going on!
The passengers had flown down from Athens for “the best fish lunch in Greece!” Then they were due to fly back again.
Well, there was nothing else for it.
We had to go there for dinner that evening!
Bob and Cathy offered to dingy the 15 minute ride over to the restaurant, scout the scene and make a reservation if possible. Excitedly we all got ready for our ‘best fish dinner in Greece’.

Oh dear.
It turned out not to be so good after all.
We were the only customers, they had very little on the menu, what was there seemed to have come out of the freezer and it was just not a good experience. We were plagued by flies. It was a shame about the restaurant, but, it was a fun little outing anyway.
The restaurant ‘could’ have been dynamite and could have been the best fish restaurant in Greece (the standards are low) and it could have been worth helicoptering in from Athens - but just maybe there was a little case of a businessman showing a client a good time with all the theatrics, just maybe?

As we finished our meal the skies got dark and it started to rain. We headed back to the boat straight away. It can be a long time 15 minutes in a dingy in the dark in the rain.
We got back onboard there was a bit of a swell – the wind was coming.
We closed the boat up - and just missed the downpour!

John started to complain about feeling really ill …

John inspects the rigging most days if possible. The dastardly boom vang had come loose again!
There is something wrong here. This should not be happening all the time.

..time to move on to the Greek islands, before dropping Bob and Cathy off.

Did I mention John mentioned he wasn’t feeling well?
