As we had arrived in the dark it was only this morning that we were able to get our first view of Road Town. As with much of the Caribbean, Irma and Maria have left behind much devastation - smashed buildings and boats. Martin and Dave from Flying went off to find customs and immigration - they are still operating from an open tent on the ferry dock which made it very windy so great care was needed not to lose any paperwork. After about two hours they finally made it back to the boats.

We decided it was time to enjoy ourselves so both Tikka and Flying set sail to Cane Garden Bay (which had been recommended by our friends on Brag). Now it wasn’t a race but.... Tikka did get there first and Augustin caught a fish on the which we plan to have for dinner.

The bay was beautiful - white sand, blue seas, and a couple of beach bars. Just what we needed, so we took the dinghy ashore and found a bar for a couple of rum punches. The bar had swings for seats - not sure on how we would fair on these after a few too many rums (we decamped to the seats on the beach by then).

We had dinner onboard - our free fish made into rillettes followed by bbq chicken and plenty of salad from our fresh stores.

After a great nights sleep we had time for a quick swim, spotted a turtle lazily swimming past and set off for Jost Van Dyke (less than 5 miles away). Just heading out of the bay we found a lilo/floating mattress so we hauled it up but couldn’t find the owners so Tikka now has a new toy.
