We spent a few days in Bequia after a day sail from the Pitons in St Lucia. We arrived Thursday evening. Friday we took a taxi tour of the island with Malcolm - up to the old fort with fab views over Admiralty Bay, then to an old plantation on the Atlantic side, picking up coconuts which malcolm opened for us with the machete he handy keeps behind his seat (his since he was a child!) so we could sample fresh coconut water.

From there we headed to the turtle sanctuary - from tiny ones only just bigger than your thumb to large ones almost 20 years old.

We finished the day with dinner at a bar on the water watching the sunset

Saturday we spent the afternoon on the beach - a cat had anchored way too close to the beach and were using their bbq and throwing the leftovers and carcasses into the water (amongst people swimming and to be washed up on the beach). Martin decided to take action - swam out and returned some of their rubbish ‘I think you dropped this?’, and came back to the beach to a round of applause.

Monday was snorkelling and we were thinking of leaving Tuesday but weather closed in with rain and high winds so we hunkered down for the night with a movie and dinner with the guys from Flying (Lethal Weapon 2). Heading off to Mustique Wednesday morning
