After 3 nights and 2 beautifully calm nights the wind shifted at around 1100 and we began to rock and roll.  As it was New Years eve we upped anchor and headed for Lumut International Yacht Club.  Sounds much better than it is!  Again great people and very run down facilities.  That said we had and end berth on the marina pontoon and it was sheltered.

We tracked down a small bar (there aren't many as this is largely a muslim area) and welcomed 2009 with a beer.  

Lots of Malaysian Navy here - there biggest base is just a couple of miles down river.
