Title: 34:47N 010:37W

Saturday 05102013 0635 and 110 deg 300NM from Porto Santo after pleasant 'quiet' overnight no.3.
There being almost no traffic allows us to use our radar-reflector/alarm, hence we get an audible alarm signal when next 'swiped' by another vessel operating radar. Another gizmo, which we've not been able to use until now because there's always been someone 'swiping' us! That says how quiet it is in this part of the Atlantic. Managed about 6 hours sailing but since 0400 needing to support sails with donk to maintain speed. Sue's last words before going back to bed was 'I think we need to more speed" so as always I do as I'm told!
At 0600 UT spoke to Bob - s/y Godspeed (on passage 0130 Portimao towards Rabat) Doug - s/y Hobnob (enjoying being on hook Porto Vecchio, SE Corsica) and Robert - s/y Quest (very faint, heading towards Symi). It's good to speak to friends on the water using SSB.
Squiddy failed to attract any fish yesterday and was duly thrown in at the deep end first light and told to make itself more attractive.
Sorted out engine gremlins yesterday so now have full revs whenever might be needed - which is unlikely ever. These things inevitably get worse so it's always best to sort at very first opportunity. I might not let a tank (two in this case) run out completely in future!
At least 2 more nights to go. Ta ta for now. Love to M&R, J&P, S&F, S&T xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
