Darsena de la Marina, Inner Harbour, La Coruna

There are two English children charging up and down the pontoon, I think they have must have been bobbing about at anchor, or sailing, for about 5 weeks and are now letting off steam....

I feel we are finally in Spain. It is great to be in La Coruna, we motored here from Sada this morning and thankfully our Bukh 20hp engine didn't miss a beat as we rounded the final headland and faced 30 knots of breeze to plough through to get to the marina breakwater. It continued to howl all afternoon but now there isn't a breath.

Have you been here? If so, we'd love to hear your stories at sadlertc at gmail.com  Any recommendations? We will walk to the "oldest lighthouse in the world" tomorrow, it is at the entrance of the bay here. Then we plan to go by train to Santiago de Compostela for a day trip after that. Seems to be plenty to do having visited the Tourist Information and returned with an armful of brochures.

La Coruna is buzzing with cranes, ships, pilot boats, fishing boats, building works, people, cars, busses. Many interesting buildings and statues of historical significance. I feel we've rather come in from the wilderness and enjoyed a rather dazed walkabout town this afternoon. There are several other boats also waiting for the wind and swell to die down before heading south. Cape Finisterre looms around the corner and needs to be treated with great respect, so we hope we will be blessed with kind weather within the next week or so.

All the best from a clean and sparkling showered and laundered crew
