Victoria Marina, St Peter Port, Guernsey

Every other Sunday until August here in St Peter Port, the road along the harbour is shut to cars and a Sunday Market takes place. Today in glorious sunshine it was packed with gazebos, many local producers and artists. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, musicians dotted along the street and delicious smells coming from locally cooked sausages and other various food stalls. We wandered along and back, chatting with many of the stall holders, all very friendly and welcoming (even if you didn't end up buying anything from them!)

It was so sunny we had our first lunch in the cockpit for many weeks. Then the children and I headed off to scramble around the outside of Castle Cornet on the rocks before doing more beach-combing. We also wanted to have a closer look at the latest cruise liner in town; P&O's enormous Britannia who was dominating the view out to Herm and Sark. Sadly Harry then slid down some slippery seaweed so our adventure was brought to an abrupt halt and we limped back to TC for some First Aid. He was OK, especially after Nurse Isabelle prescribed plenty of chocolate coins.

More carnage this evening when the tide was high enough for yachts to enter the Marina. Once again we had to fend off several yachts, including our new neighbours who were very merry having (so they told us) had many G&T's whilst waiting on the 'Waiting Pontoon' outside!

The children are very excited about our imminent 'haul out adventure', counting down the days. Bol and I are less so.
