Thursday 24th July; making the most of the wind we headed off early towards Portland, progress was good so we decided to by-pass Portland and go for Dartmouth across Lyme Bay. That pesky sea breeze blew up again and cancelled our beautiful off shore breeze so we ended up turning on the motor for six hours, arriving in Darmouth at dusk. Dartmouth is dramatic to enter by sea, nothing visible until you are right in front of the entrance when it opens up quickly with church and castles on either side. A friendly Harbour Master told us where to moor up and we enjoyed a calm night on the River Dart.
