Cherbourg anchorage

Thursday's Child is now sitting at anchor near the entrance to the Cherbourg Marina; Fred is back in Holland, Hans is back in England and Bol, Harry and Isabelle are back on board. It was sad to say goodbye to Fred and Hans but it is lovely to have the family back on board :-)

And so begins the final part of our time afloat, the last six weeks or so exploring the north coast of France and the Channel Islands. We are looking at tomorrow's weather and it looks promising for a visit to Alderney with a gentle east wind, let's hope we get the tides right and don't get swept down towards Guernsey, thankfully it is neaps.

Apologies for the typo during our journey from Camaret when I put the incorrect latitude into the blog, putting us just south of Falmouth (thank you John B for pointing it out!) We will see if we can amend the blog but I promise we hugged the French coast to Cherbourg.

We have had a beautiful evening here at anchor with the local yacht club racing around us all evening and are feeling very happy at the prospect of what lies ahead.
