4am Cherbourg.... mission accomplished....

2.15am TC tied up alongside a pontoon in Port de Chantereyne Marina after a pretty easy, fairly uneventful, thoroughly enjoyable 36 hour journey from Camaret.

The visibility improved as the day went on and by the time we were north of Alderney we could see the Casquets Rocks and Alderney very clearly, in fact so clearly that when the tide turned against us we then had a beautiful view of Braye Harbour for four hours as we were going at about 2knots over the ground!

However, the tide turned at 11pm and we flew past Cap de la Hague and into the enormous Cherbourg Harbour following all the flashing leading red green white yellow lights all the way into the Marina.

Then it was time to pop Hans's birthday bubbly which we'd been saving for a week......
