Each time the engine is turned off, Fred starts singing Rod Stewart’s “I am sailing” and when we exchanged the Spanish courtesy flag for the French flag just now and got the “Marseilleise” (spelling???), it is wonderful to have such a happy positive spirit on board!

All going well, we  are now 65 miles from the outer approaches buoy with a further 30 after that so hopefully tied up in Camaret by mid-morning. We have had everything thrown our way and after a night of motoring we now have 2 reefs in main and jib with a new breeze from the SE. Never a dull moment and still rocking and rolling down below!

Lovely to speak with Bol via sat phone earlier today and remarkable to be able to do so when 150 miles out to sea. Good to be able to let him know that wife, mistress and two precious cargoes are all doing just fine.

Happy voting.
