More last minute jobs tackled today. Hans and I went through some of the last items I wanted to hand over and then after topping off the diesel and gaz canisters we went out for a sail to show Hans the ropes.

It was a beautiful day with a calm sea and a nice breeze, Hans had to work hard reefing and shaking reefs out, learning about the Aries wind vane self-steering and sailing to a compass course. Quick learner :-)

It is strange to think that the next time I sail the boat she will be in France, as tomorrow Harry, Isabelle and I fly back to the UK. After nine months on the boat it is going to be a bit of a shock moving back to a house.

The children were very sad this evening but somewhat consoled to know that we will be reuniting in France to continue our very special 'year off'. And the parents...... well we have just had a dram in the cockpit whilst the other three sleep and mulled over the past 9 months, chatting through the good and the bad and the happy and the memorable, and are also consoled to know we will be reuniting in France soon and can continue a little while longer :-)
