Mazagon Marina

We knew today would be blustery and bouncy but we are all feeling rather exhausted and battered! There was the forecast 2m swell and 30 knots on the beam so TC made good steady progress with very little sails up, but Bol had to hand steer most of the way as 'Geoff' the self-steering would not have coped with the corkscrew motion.

There was a beautiful sunrise over Cadiz and the sun shone on us all day which always helps morale! The white horses meant that Harry's teaser and lure weren't spotted by any fish sadly, so it was bacon and egg for supper.

The children did incredibly well considering it was impossible to do much on TC today, not a whisper of complaint, so we were pleased to come to the marina here in Mazagon and spend the evening on the nearby beach to let off steam.

Despite the marina being totally calm, we are all still bobbing up and down thanks to the motion of today's sailing. A day off tomorrow to let the swell die away out at sea, and the River Guadiana on Saturday.
