Phew, at last the wind has died down and after studying every forecast we can lay our hands on, we've made the decision to head out very early tomorrow, leave the Gibraltar Straits and the Mediterranean behind us and head back into the Atlantic. We will aim for Barbate or Rota, depending on whether the wind behaves itself. We have thoroughly enjoyed Gibraltar and the surrounding area, but feel ready to get going again.

We caught a bus to the Algeciras today and had a second and very satisfactory visit to a Decathlon. In November we went to Portimao Decathlon to stock up on warm winter clothes, this time we stocked up on summer things in eager anticipation of warmer weather over the horizon.

If Stage I was Yarmouth to Gibraltar, we feel rather as we are embarking on Stage II, Gibraltar to Yarmouth.

Alarm clock is set for 5.30am.... ETD 6am
