The rain finally stopped and we woke to find Gibraltar in the middle of a 'levanter' a gale force easterly wind which blows through from time to time. The Marina is pretty sheltered as we are on the west side of the Rock, but the swell has managed to work its way into the Marina and is pretty uncomfortable. It must make the designers of the Marina layout very frustrated to see all the yachts lurching around on their mooring lines despite breakwaters in most directions.

However, we have had a busy day. Harry and I had an excellent visit to the World War II tunnels which included a 40 minute tour.  We were given a fascinating insight into life inside the Rock and an exhibition of black and white photos showed what life was like day-to-day for the 5,000 inhabitants from 1935 onwards. The rock that was dug out was then used to reclaim land for the runway and our tour ended at a section overlooking the runway just as the roar of an Easyjet plane took off, talk about being brought back to 2015 rather rapidly.

Bol and Isabelle had a quieter day on board and it seems everyone in the Marina is just pleased that the rain has stopped enabling everyone to come up for air.
