With 199 miles to go this time yesterday and fresh 15 –24 knot winds we decided to slow down so as to time our arrival for dawn on Friday. The wind has held steady since then and we now have 68 miles to run under a clear blue sky and with a moderate SE swell. Andy and I took noon sights and got within half a mile of our gps position so we were well pleased – the astro nav class is getting there. No fish yet which is a bit of a disappointment but the line remains out and ready. A few birds have appeared – terns and tropic birds indicating that land is not far away. Up channel night tonight, so yet another bottle of red wine to consume. Tough life – all well on board.
