Last night saw a beautiful nights sailing with light winds a gentle rolling sea and a mix of clouds and stars.
This morning saw the wind die away and so at 8.30 we started the engine as the forecast shows no wind for at least 36 hours. At least it means plenty of power to charge Kindles and cool the wine!
A few jobs were carried out, mundane ones like cleaning the drinking water filter and cleaning stainless steel, and more energetic ones such as climbing the mast to fix a new block to the track for the spinnaker pole uphaul which had given way a couple of days ago.
Warmer weather saw the crew on deck in sunbathing mode to read instead of huddled in the cockpit and the daily card session was less energetic than usual as the cards stayed on the cockpit table without help.
Change of galley slave his evening as Chris has stepped in to create a spaghetti bolognese any Italian would be proud of.
All is well and progress towards St Helena continues – 799 miles to go.
Best wishes to all CFA&A
