We were delayed in Cape Town for 3 days by a faulty dinghy valve.  Since we had already checked out of the country, Fi and I lurked around as illegal aliens and kept a low profile – crew Andy and Alison took the opportunity to climb Table mountain!  Yesterday at 1030 we finally recovered the dinghy, at a cost which would have allowed the two local hypalon technicians to enjoy a brief holiday in Europe, and by 1400 we were motoring away from Cape Town against a light headwind leaving the iconic peak astern in gathering mist. Driving through the night amid frolicking whales is a much over rated past time – and the rancid smell of a breath held for a tad too long is not to be recommended. We decided that a brief over night stay in Saldana bay was preferable to motoring into any head wind, so by 0330 this morning we were enjoying yet another anchor drop. Tomorrow is another day with promising winds and a huge empty ocean beckons. All well on board.
