Well a better night last night but still showers and squalls and 30 degree rolls to ensure that we are not treated to too much sleep.
It is great having a smiling fit young crew to wake you for the next watch his enthusiasm and athlecity are refreshing. Plus there is an incentive to try and look fit agile and ready to go as opposed to groaning as every muscle aches and stiffens while trying to exit the bunk on the correct roll so as to be fired out rather than back against the bulkhead.
Chris spent a busy and bruising 1 1/2 hours down in the engine room fitting a very impressive teak support to lessen the play in the steering box plate - Heath Robinson would have been proud!
As the sea lessened this afternoon I decided to bake ginger biscuits to fill the sadly low cookie jar - seas were of course just teasing and as I placed the tray in the oven 1/2 the raw dough circles slid off on the roll and stuck to the cookker door. The gimbles got confused and the yoghurt flask with the latest batch inside fflew from the cooker top. Chris came to the rescue holding the door and the flask and acting as a gimble while I returned each somewhat misshapen cookie to the tray and slammed the door quick.
Worst bit ws cleaning oven door after it had cooked dough all over theglass.
such is life at sea.
Morale is high and all is well.
