We sailed for three hours yesterday, no more. The rest of the time we had to use the engine.
The night was beautiful most of the time. Now we have new moon, which of coarse means no moon. The stars were bright, bright. We had the Southern Cross to port, Karslvogna, which English name I do not remember, aft to starboard, and Orion right above us. Anne Sofie had her first night watch. The captain accompanied her, as it also was her first night ever on the ocean. It was a soft start for her. No wind waves, just the Pacific swell, maybe 1,5 m.
We have radio contact with "Alutia" and also emails from them and from HarryZ, so we do not feel quite alone out here, even if they are hundreds of miles away.
Everything is well onboard, and still no wind, but we hope for some sailing when we reach 3 degrees S. So, maybe, in the afternoon or tomorrow. We hope we can stop burning diesel for some time.
Yesterday we saw sea turtles and one or two whales (in some distance) and also a sea lion (?). Some few flying fishes and some petrels. Today we saw an enormous school of small dolphins, maybe a hundred or more. They jumped and played a couple of hundred meters in front of the boat and and al least three hundred meters to both sides. They did not come to the boat. We guessed that they were too busy chasing tunas (?). Bright sun in the middle of the day and we make fresh water. Doing 60 liters today.
