|The night before leaving the town of Lomaloma we invited Ben’s family for dinner on Take Off. Ben had to work however we fetched his sister Linda, her 2 children and Ben’s cousin who is taking care of Ben’s daughter. We were told later on that Ben’s wife was at the hospital in Savusavu giving birth to their second child. His wife could only come back in a weeks time when the next boat was to pass Lomaloma.|Linda and Ben’s cousin with the kids in the cockpit having dinner. They had very big eyes and had never been on board such a big boat… if they only that we are the 4th smallest boat of the World ARC fleet and that Alex is constantly hurting himself complaining that the boat is too small. Haha well our perspectives are different.

Ben joined us later on when he finished here together with Linda.
After 3 days in Vanua Balavu we left the island full of impressions, feelings, new friends and hope for their future. These 3 days felt like more than a week and we were all especially moved by their friendliness. Sometimes we feel that we Europeans have a lot to learn from these people.
