We have now arrived in Manitsoq…don’t ever try and pronounce Greenland names…one we came across near here is QaQaQ. The photos are of a Fulmar, which we had around the boat on the crossing on many occasions; then refraction giving the already odd shaped ice bergs an even stranger look. We aren’t at 66.5 degrees north yet so do get a sunset for about ten minutes at midnight, another 60 miles or so north and it should only just kiss the horizon. Next the mountains of Greenland ! Followed by our first landfall, this was taken at about 1am in the morning! A lovely old church and yes Greenland is green here’s a flower in a patch of green to prove it! Unfortunately we also find the stories of black fly are true so if out walking one has to get covered up, no hardship really as its cold enough not to want to expose too much skin. The last picture is of the inner harbor of Manitsoq. The place and the people are friendly and the supermarket sells Mars bars. Life is good.
