Weather: rain and drizzle, cool

The last few days have been slow and quiet. The marina is virtually deserted this late in the year but yesterday, just as I was starting to feel a bit lonely and depressed, I was fortunate to make the acquaintance of a young French bloke, Christophe, who has recently sold a boat berthed next to Sylph. He now has a 51 foot boat sitting on the hard here which he is busily working on. Having spent some time here Christophe has all the inside knowledge and a car, a very handy contact indeed. He has a nice girlfriend who has a three year old daughter, Sofia. We all went to the supermarket together today and now Sofia and I are great friends, which is very nice.

On the down side I received an email from a friend who has just lost his boat on a reef in the Gulf of Mexico during a gale. Very sad news but at least he is OK, which is good.

All is well.

Bob Cat:

We haven’t moved for the last three days, I am getting suspicious. And the heater has been on for most of it, and I have scored some semi-decent food on two days out of three. And I HAVE MANAGED TO SLEEP FOR NEARLY THE WHOLE TIME. SCAREY!
It can’t last so I had best make the most of it while I can … zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
