While the wind is still in the wrong quadrant (south to south east), it has eased considerably so this morning we departed Robe and proceeded offshore once more. We are now close-hauled on the port tack heading straight into a two to three meter swell. Fortunately the swell is long and relatively even so that Sylph can rise and fall to them without too much pitching and loss of speed. In an hours time we will tack and head back towards the coast, with a little luck we might be able to lay Cape Martin.

The forecast is for several days of light to moderate headwinds. Working to windward, as I might have mentioned once or twice previously, is not Sylph’s strong point. Consequently, it is likely to be slow going over the next several days. I am not sure where we will end up this leg. As long as we are making progress in the right direction and the conditions are reasonably comfortable we will keep on sailing.
