The light breeze remained with us for much of last night and we made good time down the Californian and Mexican coast. In fact we were going to arrive at around 3 a.m. with which I was not comfortable, entering a strange and not terribly well charted port in the dark. Furthermore there was nowhere we could anchor so at 9 p.m. I furled the jib and turned Sylph's bows out to sea to jog along at a slow speed to kill a bit of time. At 1 a.m. I gybed and headed back into the coast so that we would not get too far away, and at three I set the jib again. Unfortunately the breeze did not hold for long after that and at 4.30 I once more rolled up the jib and started the BRM so as to get alongside to allow plenty of time to clear customs and immigration and to be able to have a cursory look around town. We came alongside an empty berth at the Cruiseport Village marina at 9.35.

I am struggling to stay awake at the moment (just typed five rows of 'a's), so I will complete the rest of today's story (nothing very exciting) later after a nap.

All is well.
