Winds continue light, as forecast, but mostly consistent. With the smooth seas, Sylph is able to maintain steerage way and make slow but steady progress, mostly in the right direction. We have sailed some seventy five miles to make good a distance of only forty miles towards the Whitsundays, but it has been all very pleasant so no complaints.

I tried to get closer in to the coast last night, so as to get within phone range but, as we approached Mackay at three this morning, I found myself entering a barrage of ships at anchor. At this early hour I was not in the mood for staying up the rest of the night dodging ships, so we tacked and headed back out into the less densely populated waters offshore, and continued with my twenty five minute nap routine.

We are now about ten miles north of Scawfell Island and heading towards Brampton Island. I might anchor there for the night, depending on what time we arrive and how I am feeling. On the other hand, if the wind is good and I am feeling rested, I may just keep on going.

All is well.
