Wind: South F2
Sea: moderate
Weather: sunny, warm
Day’s run: 97 Nm

We have made good time with the strong winds behind us, arriving off Southport just on dawn, the wind easing as we got closer, which was perfect, otherwise the shallow entrance might not have been negotiable with a big sea running. I tacked back and forth a few times to kill some time so as to enter at slack water and watched several boats come and go as I did so. At nine o’clock I decided it all looked good so gybed around one more time and made the approach. All went well and now we are snug at anchor amongst a whole bunch of other cruising boats. I wonder what will happen next.

All is well.
