As I’m sure you’ve noticed we have been absent from our blog, we were in Grenada for Christmas and New Year having met up with some old friends form when we lived there.

We had the most fantastic time catching up with people and enjoying the places and restaurants we use to frequent, including a hike above Concord Falls and having a deep fried turkey cooked for us on Christmas day! Delicious.

We got back to St Lucia on the 5th January to prepare for the next adventure - The start of The World Arc which was yesterday. We arrived knowing that Iain and Tammy were not going to continue with us to The Galapagos having decided that the sailing was not for them, so finding crew was the most important thing to achieve before we left. After a couple of days we now have Pietro and Ollie. Having spent a night and a day at sea with them everything is looking good so far.

The start yesterday was wonderful, with 32 yachts starting and numerous spectator boats following us down to Castries where we turned for Columbia, a mere 600 miles away. Our destination is the San Blas islands just off the Panama canal. They look wonderful and everyone on board is looking forward to a change in scenery.

The trade winds are being very good to us and we are being pushed along at about 8.5 knots with 25 knots of wind. The best sailing we’ve had so far.
