Getting a clean start through 200 other boats was a challenge but we managed. A large squall came through the fleet just as the gun went off just to spice it up even more, but hopefully everybody made it away safely. Last night was good apart from some damage to our spinnaker pole track. It’s still useable but will need some tlc when we get to St Lucia.

Wind was fairly consistent up until 3 am and since then we’ve been sitting in a 4-5knots. The grib files are showing the same scenario for the next few days so The Cape Verdes will be doing a fine trade in diesel. All is well aboard and it’s great to be off the dock.
