Day 2

A slow noisy day under engine as predicted with a little apparent wind on the nose! Had to keep going to cross the band of high pressure so motor sailed in a northerly direction until 2.30am when the wind came up from behind and we were able to put the pole out with the help of the bright light from the full moon.  Been sailing nicely at 6-7 knts since with a bit of peace and quiet!  Seems we left the fog and drizzle back in the Azores – had a lovely day with mainly blue sky and sunshine – long may it last.   The seas were very flat but a slight wind chop is now making us roll a bit but certainly can’t complain – a doddle to what we’ve had in the past!!

Saw several small groups of pilot whales with a couple of them spyhopping – great to see.  Also seeing quite a number of Portuguese man-o-war jelly fish.  A few ships on the AIS but nothing came near us.
