Fishing News - The Saga Continues

Despite best efforts of the master deckhand "Para nae handy," no fish have so far landed on deck. Things were starting to get tense with the senior crew members (In age as well as rank) baying for some fish blood on the after deck. The plight of the lowly deckhand Reid came to the attention of the International Fishing Consultant, Joseph Reid MBE (New book out for Christmas). Taking time out from his birthday celebratons, he contacted Swiftwing via the sattelite link to offer some words of advice. "Use a whole flying fish as bait" he said. "Aye right, we cannae even catch a flying fish" said the now thoroughly despondant deckkie. Making do as best he could though, Reid set about hammering some lead into a fish shape and then wrapped it in the now familiar and thoroughly useless spinnaker material. Two wings were added along with a double hook and a wire trace. Photos were taken and the fish was officially launched as the "Lead Zeppelin" (because it will hopefully be a lead hearted flying and killing machine). Several hours of trawling have recorded one "hit" but nothing as yet landed. Deckhand Reid is now becoming concerned that the fine fishing heritage of the family is on the line and time is running out to make ammends. Some extra hours on the after deck will be required to land the prize and avert disaster. Deckkie Reid reckons that all the sightings of dolphins mucking about on the bow wave scares all of the fish away. Maybe some harpooning will yeild the desired results!
