Title: Photo blog from Lanzarote

Dear Family and Friends,

Continuing on from the last email, here are more shots of Cesar Manrique’s house.

Lava blow hole in roof is in floor of reception area above.

Another lava room!

Manrique’s cactus garden with ceramic mural, thought of you Ruth with this one!

OCC crowd!

Life’s a beach! cafe for lunch.

Do not adjust your computer the water is really green due to algae, mind you I am seriously worried as a lot of my photos now have sloping horizons, think I must be loosing the ability to tell!

Amazingly they grow vines here and the white wine is very good. This 200 year old vine’s roots are over 6’ down in the soil below the volcanic layer. The last eruptions were in 1730-36 and 1824. The vine is within a horseshoe shaped wall of volcanic stones to protect it from the drying winds.

More to come!
