With apologies for not getting the lighting right, (from horse back with only a few moments to compose the shot)!

Interior hillsides, this is the wetter climate, on the western side it is dessert.

Between Anaho and Hatuatua Bay, now there are just 1-2 people who live in this bay. Before colonisation there were many thousands.

Taken from the steep track we were trailing on horseback.
