Dear Family and Friends,

20th April 2015

With slower progress now landfall is still a tantalizing 7-8 days away. Everyone says this crossing feels the longest, we are now in our 14th day at sea, 1018 NM to go. Overnight we will break through the last 1,000 NM barrier, which will be another milestone reached. We have made a more southerly course to keep up the speeds and progress so we are now south of our destination of Atuona in Hiva Oa and are climbing back on a north westerly course.

We have used the last of our green vegetables and are now on the stalwarts of squash, onions, cabbage and roots like beetroot and carrots, green tomatoes and cucumber. The fruit has virtually all been eaten or gone off. Sadly I was not so lucky with the fruit which went off very quickly. There’s plenty of dried and tinned fruit, canned and bottled vegetables but its not the same and it is the thing I crave most. For those dying to know the banana loaf is lovely, enriched with a measure of passion fruit Ponshe from Madeira.

Otherwise all is well, we keep busy, 2 days spent reorganising computer files, oh joy, must be bored!

All our best,

Lynne and Alan
