Dear Family and Friends,

22nd February 2015

With a slightly un comfortable feeling, we are 27 miles off the Columbia coast. This country does not enjoy a good reputation and we are not insured to go there but our passage, winds and current, all mean we have to past this coastline.

We are into day 4 of our passage and just over half way there. We encountered some heavy seas and towering swell. This was not at all great for Alan as he had to replace an impellor on the generator, yesterday, by getting into the rear cockpit locker. Happily we are back on charge now.

We have been passed by several cruise ships, tankers and coastal shipping sighted on mostly radar and occasionally near enough for a visual sighting but no other yachts, not even our friends on Sofia, whom we speak to on the SSB radio. I am quite sure we are not the only ones in transit to Panama.

All quiet otherwise, usual housekeeping chores to attend to on passage!

All our best,
Lynne and Alan
