| Dear Family and Friends, 16th February Breaking with our regular practice, we are posting the photo blog first, as we can only send this with wifi and if all goes well we will be leaving shortly to start the 7-8 day passage to the San Blas islands and then Panama and be communicating through satellite comms. Grenada is much like Dominica, abundant rainfall (160” per annum!) ensures large leaved tropical greenery and spectacular flowers. More than other islands, this on is famed for its spices, nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, cloves, tumeric. It has cocoa and banana plantations and used to grow coffee, before the recent hurricanes destroyed the trees/bushes. We did a tour of the island yesterday, which was brilliant, so with a mixture of the scenic and the agricultural, here goes! Approaching St Georges harbour SW coast Grenada. Cloudy skies and frequent rain seem typical. Closer to St George’s harbour Prayers before school sports day in local football/sports arena.
