On our 5th day and we have still not caught any fish, so we are relying on the provisions on the boat.  Stocking the boat is quite a feat, breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks throughout the day & night.  Also what do you cook when you can only spend 10 mins in the galley at anyone time.  Where do you stock up and with what as there’s not much to get in Cape Verde.

I split the task into 3 categories

Easy meals in bad weather or feeling ill- tins packets etc

Medium meals anything under 10 mins from start to finish

Anchorage, marina or total calm seas where I can make something nice.

Then hopefully i will catch fish on route to add to the variety

The last great shop was in Tenerife, where luckily I did my stocking up as Dakhlar, Dakar and Cape Verde where very poor. We had tiny little shops that all stock the same goods, even the fruit and veg looked like it would not last more than a couple of days, as in the heat it ripens so quick.  Luckily Lisa likes over ripe bananas…

So far I have everything that anyone wants hopefully the food will last.
