| We are on the verge of a new discovery! Today we sail west in search of the new route to Asia and the spice islands of the East Indies. We believe we will reach Japan in the next 6 days. As we leave this island we are reminded of the indigenous people of this land who have treated us well, and have introduced us to a new beverage they call Sangria. We have loaded casks of this onto the vessel for the voyage. We hope this correspondence reaches you in good health and prosperity. Until our next correspondence, may the winds be with us!    |
