The wind dropped to 2 knots at around 7am this morning, we had to pull down our parasail or risk it catching on the main sail and ripping. We are determined to sail to St Lucia so we refused to turn our motors on, instead we spent about 1.5 hours bobbing in the water. Again it was a chilled day, some sun baking, abseiling, rock climbing… the usual! Chad and scuba Steve did their tribal hip hop wind dance….
Magically the winds picked back up to around 6 knots, so we attempted sailing with our light wind parasail again. We were not making much progress, sitting at about 3 knots. We all agreed to try a new approach, we spent the rest of the day with our Main sail and code zero sails up heading further south to keep the wind on our beam. We are now averaging about 6 knots. Hopefully we will find these elusive 13 knot winds in the coming days!

The Wolf pack has deserted us today, they have all resorted to using their motors so have left us behind. Although we are catching up now we are heading further south. We will be cutting off our Danish members in the coming hours. We are also hot on the heels of our Finnish beta, he motored past us around 11am this morning.
We think John has successfully scared off our Beta today, with a disturbing radio invitation to join us for skinny dipping. He insists it was a joke, but we are now wondering if this sailing trip was a round about way to convince us to join a nudist colony! This isn’t the first time he has eluded to nudity on board…. (Nude sun baking anyone?)

Still no sign of sea life today, beginning to think we are the only things alive out here! Still no luck fishing, we did almost hook a seagull though… Chicken anyone?!

Lots of activity on the deck today, we sent Scotty up the mast for some small repairs. The radar is attached with some razor sharp zip ties, which is a bit of a hazard to the parasail if we get back winded. Scotty volunteered so we put him in his harness and Chad helped pull him up the Mast. He fixed the zip ties with electric tape so they weren’t so sharp. Not to be left out, Chad and Steve insisted they also have a go, so they went up afterwards to see the view. We suspect that they just wanted to see if they could still spot the Danish boat with the girls on board (they couldn’t).

John and Scotty have been playing masterchef in the kitchen today (Clothes on this time… well mostly!). They have finally mastered the bread recipe and have made us two delicious loafs of bread! Martika has also made us some banana bread to snack on during our night shifts, yum!
