Today has been more of the same, low winds and no waves. The wind has picked up since yesterday though, and we are now averaging about 5 knots. We all agree that we would love some stronger winds to get us to St Lucia faster, although these light winds do make for perfect movie, reading and sun baking weather!

Our wolf pack has dispersed again over night, we believe that they have mostly dropped behind us in the non race. Overnight we have recruited some new boats, mostly monohulls. They seem to be cutting faster angles in the water than us, so we will probably drop behind them over night. Not to worry though as our Beta is coming up behind us… The Finnish are so desperate to become the alpha.

We had 6 man over boards today. The water was just too inviting and we crossed the exact halfway point between Africa and South America. It would have been a crime not to jump in! We dropped the sail, put a safety line out the back of the boat and all dived in. The water was 5000m deep, and really clear - nothing like seeing that much blue water below you. We swam for about 10 minutes, jumping in a few times (always making sure one person was on the boat!). We are hoping to jump in again at our half way point in a few days.

Still no sings of sea life today, which is probably for the best. Not sure how brave we would all have been jumping in if we had seen a shark.

We had a bit of a pizza disaster for dinner, but John was able to turn it around and give us all a delicious dinner!
