After a quite run down the coast from North Cape in brilliant sunshine,we are currently 3 hours out from Opua. This is one of those ocean crossings that sailors treat with trepidation as most times you can expect to have at least one day of strong winds or worse. Terry and Chrissie have been great shipmates and we hope to be able to join them on their own boat for one of the legs when they sail Sedna back to Australia.

There is a nasty looking weather system approaching NZ so we may have to stay in the Bay of Islands until this passes before making our way down to Auckland where we have a berth booked at the Viaduct basin.
