Someone reminded me that the length of this leg is equal to the distance from Moscow to Beijing. Ten days out and seven to go certainly sharpens one's sense of distance. At 6am this morning we sighted the first ship or we have seen since leaving the Galapagos. It was a small tanker, probably heading from Tahiti to Panama. We haven't seen any polution in the ocean or any aircraft.

There's little else to report. The trade winds blow with remarkably consistency of strength and direction, there are a few fluffy clouds during the day which often produce rain showers at night. Tomorrow night we will have a full moon which is nearly bright enough to read by. We have eaten our fish stocks so Tony and Mike have been let loose again and we are looking forward to  more sashimi and tuna steaks.
