Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

There was certainly no missing Gran Canaria. As we approached during the early hours of the morning we saw a glow on the horizon which very soon became the Las Vegas of the Canary Islands. Las Palmas was a very busy Marina, which has been set up to handle the 250 plus ARC boats that head of across the Atlantic every year, which unfortunately means that it is not very user friendly. Being a very busy town, it had lots of good supermarkets and all the usual big stores are there, so no problems in getting provisions. The old quarter of the town was the best, lots of restaurants and bars and was bustling with life late into the night. We found a lovely old restaurant tucked away that was mostly used by locals, so usually the best.
