We caught a Dorado (Mahi Mahi) this afternoon which was about a meter long. At some point everyone on the boat was involved in landing it. Steve filleted it and we had a big fish dinner. Demetra fried some lightly in bread crumbs and the rest in a teriyaki marinade.  The remainder is in the freezer.

The fuel system on this boat involves a “Day Tank” of 900 litres which is higher than the engine.  It takes forever to fuel up because you first fill the day tank and the diesel trickles down to the main tanks through idiotically small pipes with 3/8”electro- valves.

The Port tank valve has failed and doesn’t close properly, so now we have to pump the escaping fuel back to the header tank every few hours.

We sailed most of the day but the wind has dropped this evening and gone almost dead behind so we’re motoring for a while to see what happens next. I would like to arrive in Suwarrow not too late on Sunday but to do that we may have to motor more than is desirable.

We started motoring last night at 21:45 and carried on all night covering 185 miles and with only 165 to go we will easily arrive Sunday.
