Pretty much all the jobs have been complete, provisioning done (thats two huge trips to the supermarket and half a ton of cow delivered), and parties attended, so now we are preparing ourselves for the off. An additional job has been to replace all the internal boat lights with LED's - bit of a busman's holiday for Colin. Buying these was interesting as the LED "Shop" was a Westerly Oceanranger moored up in the marina! It has been a great week in Las Palmas, the ARC+ organisers have been brilliant and getting to know the other boats has been fun. Keith has been tied to the galley cooking up cauldrons of chilli, curries, casseroles and stews. The smell is fabulous and we have a queue of restaurant critics waiting for a seat at Sonsy's table. The prospect of eating so well while underway is making us all keen to set sail! We attended the final event last night which was a combined ARC+ farewell and ARC welcoming party. It was a strange feeling that after we leave on Sunday the partying and seminars will be starting all over again for the main ARC event of about 250 boats. Our smaller group of 43 boats going via Cape Verdes appears much more preferable option though. We may get another blog off before we set sail tomorrow other than that it we will next be in contact on our way to the Cape Verdes.
