We are now at our full complement of crew as Keith joined us last night - just in time for the ARC+ Fancy Dress party. A much anticipated event for which some brilliant costumes were donned. The residents of Gotham City , Gran Canaria were able to sleep comfortably in their beds last night, safe in the knowledge that the caped crusaders were fighting evil on the city streets and restoring good. With all the effort that had gone in to selecting the appropriate dress, we would have a great chance of winning one of the three prizes awarded - but sadly the competition was fixed and with the exception of a mention for Batman and Batwoman no prizes came our way. This was disappointing as we could really have done with the 100 euro voucher for Hiperdino (Spanish equivalent of Morrisons), as having attended a seminar on Provisioning in the morning we realised we may not have sufficient food for 10 days let alone the 30 they advise we stock for!! It really comes to something when you're working out toilet roll rations (1/4 of a roll per person per day, apparently) and considering secreting away snack rations to bring out when morale is low (assuming the secreter hasn't scoffed the lot beforehand!) Today, we have Gavin and Paul from Oyster on board carrying out pre-trip checks and they are doing a great job. When they finish we still have jobs to do, but the list is getting shorter. The weather is still good here, and the forecast is good for sunday and into next week, so hopefully we will have a good start and good winds to take us to Cape Verdes.
