28:07.584N 15:25.591W Monday 4th November Two of our crew spent this morning planting
trees in the interior of Gran Canaria. Under the auspices of planting one tree,
followed by copious amounts of beer,
wine and food they went off with huge smiles on their faces. However, 4 hours
later having helped plant 250 saplings fortified only by small cartons of apple
juice and a dried out ham roll, they returned covered in red soil, tired,
hungry and desperate for a beer. The things people do for the environment. A few more jobs have been ticked off the
to-do list, which seems still to grow longer day by day! We are now preparing
for drinks with likeminded travellers, Russell and Jane prior to the ARC
sponsored crew dinner. Its going to be a messy night, so says Colin. Today has definitely been a good day
weather-wise, with temperatures nudging 30 degrees and beautiful blue skies –
long may it continue.
